Why This Recipe Works

Raise your hand if you’ve immersed yourself in holiday baking this season! The baking craze is in full swing in my house, but I’ve been keeping it simple this year. Easy, no-bake recipes are my jam right now.

I have made these Oreo cookie balls a few times in the past few weeks and oh my GOODNESS! People (including myself) love these things.

They require minimal effort to make and they are ridiculously addicting. It’s so easy to just pop one in your mouth, then another, and another, and.. you get the picture. Oreo cream cheese balls are great for holiday parties for these very reasons.

Recipe Ingredients

Oreo cookies – Either use a food processor to chop cookies or crush with a heavy spoon in a sealed ziploc bag.

Cream cheese– Use full fat variety to create the cream cheese filling for best results.

Vanilla almond bark– Coarsely chop the almond bark before melting it. Alternatively, you may use a bag of melted white chocolate chips or chocolate melting wafers.

Sprinkles – Optional for decoration, but these are a great way to make your dessert festive.

How To Make No Bake Oreo Balls

Step 1

Place Oreos in ziploc bag and pound with a heavy spoon until finely chopped. Place chopped Oreos in a large bowl and add the softened cream cheese mixture. Stir until well coated.

Roll mixture into 1-inch balls using your hands and place on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper or wax paper. Place baking sheet in the refrigerator until firm, about 30 minutes.

Place almond bark in a microwave safe bowl. Heat in the microwave for 60 seconds and stir. Heat in 15-second increments, stirring after each, until smooth.

Step 3

Place each ball onto a fork and dip into the melted chocolate or almond bark until coated. Cover with sprinkles as desired and carefully place back onto the parchment/wax paper and chill for an additional 30 minutes, or until ready to serve.

Recipe Notes

  • Use a small cookie scoop to uniformly scoop the mixture from the bowl. This will help you to create consistently sized balls.
  • The consistency of the crushed cookies can vary. You can work with a chunkier mixture and cookie crumbs will work, too!
  • Sprinkle additional crushed Oreos over the tops of the truffles after placing on parchment.

How To Melt Almond Bark For Oreo Balls

My favorite method for melting the almond bark/chocolate is the easy way. The microwave! Place bark or chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 1 minute and stir.

Continue to heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the mixture is creamy and free of lumps. This method is quick and never fails!

How To Roll Oreo Truffles In Almond Bark

First of all, I much prefer using almond bark to create delicious Oreo truffles because bark hardens nicely and doesn’t melt in your fingers when you pop an Oreo Ball into your mouth. Chocolate chips will work, too!

When dipping, you can stab the ball with a toothpick or you can place it on a fork and dip. Whichever method you use, immediately roll the Oreo ball in sprinkles (sprinkles are optional) and place onto a serving plate or waxed paper.

Can You Freeze Oreo Balls

Oreo Balls should be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator and will stay fresh for 7-10 days. Or you can freeze them for up to 3 months!
