Rental Rates and Seasons:
The Maine vacation cottage is available for rent all year. Summer rates are by the week only at $1200 per week. Off season daily rates are $450.00 for 2 nights (2 night minimum) and $150 for each additional night. A 9% lodging tax is added to your total per State of Maine.

Accommodation Details:
This cottage, built in the seventies, has gone through a complete remodeling. Everything is new but retains that northern Maine warm camp feel. Knotty pine walls and a view to die for. Located feet from the lake and among thousands of acres of wood lands makes this spot the perfect place for families to develop cherished memories. Very quiet and private.

The vacation cottage has 2 bedrooms/1 bath, and sleeps 5 in beds plus pull-out couch. The cottage has Satellite TV, DVD, WIFI, Air Conditioning and kitchen with a coffee maker, microwave, dishes, and pots and pans. Linens and towels are provided except during winter months. Firewood for outside fires is Not provided. You may bring your own or feel free to pick up, down, dry, wood from my 10 acre wood lot.

The lakefront property has a beach, boat launch, pier, Propane barbecue grill, and fire pit. We have a canoe and kayaks available for your use.

Well behaved pets are welcome - must be under owners control. Bring a bed for your pet. (not allowed on the furniture or in bed with you) Plenty of space for off leash walks. Smoking is outside only. The house is not handicapped accessible.

Things I should not have to tell you:
Do not cut any live trees or plants. (this includes marshmallow sticks and branches to mark your ice traps)
Do not trim up my trees so you can see out better. (I will decide what needs to be trimmed)
Do not throw cigarette butts on the ground. (even in the winter people, snow melts)
Do not wear your ice creepers on my deck or in my camp. (ice fishermen, major damage every year)
Do not leave the 500 watt exterior lights on. (all night)
Do not build a camp fire bigger than the fire pit provided. (safety hazard and unnecessary)
Do not deface my property. (carving "I was here" in my picnic table)
Do not leave me any of your left over food. (even if it is not open, unless it's whisky)
Do not leave me your trash. (if you can bring it in you can take it with you when you leave) Trash can is for you to store bagged trash until your departure.
Do not expect to overload the sleeping capacity of the camp. (5 in beds plus a pull out couch) I do not want Tents, Campers, RVs etc. (This is too much pressure on the septic system to have this many people) Have a few friends come visit for the day. That is fine. (If you want a place to hold your high school reunion, this is not it.)

All that said:
I will do anything in my power to make your stay enjoyably. After all, this is why you all come, to have a really relaxing memorable and fun vacation. I too enjoy the many repeat clientele and have made some great friends. The majority of the people that come here are fantastic!
Just please use good common sense and have a respect for my property. Always leave it in better condition and cleanliness inside and outside than you found it. (I do not charge a cleaning fee and don't want to). Please let me know if anything is not working or damaged before you leave so I may have a chance to rectify it for you and before the next party arrives. (normal wear and tear is expected at no charge)

Thanks for letting me vent a little bit. Don't let this list (of true events) sway you away from my rental. I only have this one camp to rent and I take pride in providing you with a meticulously clean well maintained place to enjoy your hard earned time off. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Regards,
Bruce Little

Surroundings:
The cottage is on Schoodic Lake among beautiful woodlands. Water recreation includes swimming, snorkeling, trophy fishing, water skiing, and canoeing. Other nearby recreation include hiking, bicycling, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing, white water rafting, ice fishing, and hunting.

Camp is located on Birch point, one of the best fishing spots on the lake. 4 lb togue ( lake trout ) and 3 lb Salmon, 5 lb Small mouth are common. The lake is crystal clear, spring fed and has a rocky bottom. On a clear day one can see bottom in 50 feet of water. On the eastern non developed shore, many sandy bottomed coves lure boaters for a private swim. To the north is a most beautiful view of Maine's highest peak, Mount Katahdin. Baxter State Park ( Northern Maine Mountains and woods ) and Acadia National Park ( Maine rocky Coast ) would make great day trips from camp.

Schoodic Lake is 10 miles long , 2 miles wide and has a water depth of 188 feet. Fish include togue ( lake trout ), salmon, brook trout, bass and cusk.
